Released on November 9th, 2018, Holy Hell is Architects eighth full length studio album.
Okay, so it is definitely not their best album to this date, but let’s be real, from what Architects have gone through the last few years you can’t be other than impressed that they’ve stood the test of time and delivered us a solid record. The first few singles of Holy Hell where in my opinion a big disappointment. Why? Well, the first single of this album was released in September 2017. “Downfall” was the last song that ex-guitarist and main songwriter Tom Searle wrote before his death, and the fact that the songs that followed lacked his presence, was way too obvious. These songs just didn’t match the caliber shown by Architects on their two previous albums. However, on Holy Hell, we sometimes stumble on some really well written pieces that aren't the singles. Songs like “Mortal after all”, “Holy Hell”, “Damnation”, “Dying to heal”, “The seventh circle” and the album finale “A wasted hymn” are all solid tracks that could easily fit into Architects glory days.

Therefore, this album deserves to get a good rating. Before the release, I was prepared to give this album, a five out of ten rating, but was glad to be proven wrong. Henceforth I shall rate this album 7,5/10. Good job on a strong comeback, lads!
